Our Strategy

How We Work

Fistula Foundation has a proven model: We help where the need is greatest.

Fistula and severe perineal tears are most prevalent in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, so that’s where we focus our efforts. We partner with carefully selected doctors and hospitals that are trusted by the communities they serve.

Our rigorous vetting process makes sure that our partners provide high-quality repair surgery in areas with the greatest need for treatment.

Learn about how we work

My heart is deeply moved by any woman with fistula. She is someone’s daughter, sister, wife, aunt, or friend. Usually, she has lost her baby. Her body and spirit may be broken, but she is resilient. She wants what you’d want for yourself or someone you loved—a new start at life.
