4-Star Excellence, 12 Years in a Row

Fistula Foundation is proud to announce that on December 1, 2017, we were awarded Charity Navigator’s ‘exceptional’ 4-star rating—for the twelfth consecutive year.

Charity Navigator is the leading charity evaluator in the United States. Only 1% of charities reviewed on the site have received their prestigious 4-star rating over such a sustained period of time.

“I am thrilled to receive this high honor from Charity Navigator,” expressed Kate Grant, Fistula Foundation’s CEO. “We strive be as fiscally responsible as possible, and this honor confirms our success. I am grateful to our board, staff, and medical teams on the ground for their effort—and most of all to our supporters, for entrusting us with their generous donations. Their compassion is critical to the health and well-being of women suffering from obstetric fistula around the world.”

In a letter to the organization, Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael Thatcher stated, “This is our highest possible rating and indicates that your organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way. Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Fistula Foundation exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in your area of work.”

Charity Navigator is widely considered to be the nation’s premier independent charity evaluator, and has been profiled in Forbes, Business Week, Kiplinger’s Financial Magazine and others.

Fistula Foundation has consistently received the highest ratings from every industry watchdog group, including the GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency, Better Business Bureau seal, and an “A” rating from Charity Watch.

We are thankful to our generous supporters, whose compassion enables everything that we do. We consider financial efficiency and accountability to be key in achieving our mission: creating a world where no woman is forced to endure a life of misery and isolation simply for trying to bring a child into the world.
